Microphone Preamp Equalizer
Why is there a mic inside equalizer?
I just bought an Audio Phonar equalizer (it's an old stock by the way).
When i opened up the case, inside it contains 1 condenser microphone with microphone preamp inside too. The problem is why is it fitted inside and not outside with a microphone jack or something?
And also tapping the microphone produces signal on the display bar, however, it produces no sound at output...
The equalizer itself has no pink noise generator. And what I'm confused as it is mounted inside the EQ, therefore i'm unable to take out the mic compared with other professional system.
Some equalizers contain a mic so that you can adjust the EQ settings to smooth the frequency response. If that is what it is, it is called a real time analyzer:
