How does the rode podcaster stack up to the gold standard (EV RE20)
The EV RE20 was the gold standard for studio broadcasting maybe 20 years ago. There are many better sounding mics now.
The Rode Podcaster is a USB mic and it will probably sound great. The RE20 is a normal XLR type mic that needs some type of preamp or interface to record to the computer.
If you are just starting out, the Rode mic will do a great job and probably will sound as good as a RE20 if used properly. Keep in mind that the Rode Podcaster is a bit overpriced for what you get. There are many USB condenser mics out there that will cost half of what the Podcaster costs and will give you great recordings:
Buy Microphone Does anyone know where I can buy the microphone for guitar hero world tour?
I have got the solo guitar pack for Xbox 360 and now want to buy the microphone; does anyone know where to buy the microphone separately so I don’t have to buy the complete band pack?
I think any normal Xbox 360 mic should work, I mean the only difference really is the logo but I'm not 100% sure though, better check with GAME or Gamestation

Microphone Recording What would be the best microphone for recording vocals?
Can anyone recommend a good microphone to record quality sounding vocals onto P.C for mixing to create CD sounding music? Cheap, expensive, it doesn't matter, I'm desperate. Thanks

What recording microphone is best for my computer?
I really have no idea what to get. I want a good microphone so I can record vocals on Mixcraft. I don't want it to sound muffled or scratchy... Some kind of headset would be nice to have also. I want a microphone that sounds as professional as possible with an affordable price.
Thanks a bunch. ^.^
professional sound is usually not affordable when it comes to home recording.
if you don't have an audio interface, i would suggest getting a USB mic. the AT2020 is good from what i've heard. it has been around for a while and now has came out with a USB connection.
if you do have an audio interface i personally recommend the Rode NT1a. i've heard it on a number of sessions from metal to hip-hop and it has always sounded amazing.
Quality Microphone What is a good quality microphone for the PS3?
I play a lot of Call of Duty 4 and need a mic. I need one that works well and does what i want it to do. Money is kinda an issue ($30 limit) it doesn't have to be a headset just a mike. I don't care if it is wireless or wired either. My voice needs to come through clear and understandable. Please Help Me!!!
I bought a good one from bestbuy, don't know the brand, but it is wired and seems to work really good. ust go to best buy and check out theirs.
What quality directional microphone do you recommend?
I need a quality directional microphone that is very good in picking up a persons voice quality as well as one that falls between the $200-$300.range. Any suggestions?
You really can't go wrong with an Audio Technica in that price range. I've used about every model and they do what they are supposed to do.
A few months ago a client was on a tight budget and we got a couple of MXL FR-304 14-1/2" Shotgun Microphone's for like $175 each. I was really surprised at how good they actually sounded. If you want to save a little money, you might try one of those. The have a 10 inch too.
